You have 5 choices for dining out in Guana Cay.

1. Nipper's Beach Bar & Grill

See menus here.You will find Nipper's when you turn to the right from the ferry dock and walk half ways down the Front Street along the harbour. You will see a sign by the right hand side of the road where you turn to go up the hill to Nipper's. At Nipper's you can dine in "Overso" restaurant in air condition, or enjoy your food outside.

2. Grabber's at Sunset Beach

Grabbers Restaurant on Guana CayIf you turn to the left when you come off the ferry dock and walk a hundred yards down the road, you'll find Grabbers. Grabbers is the absolute best spot to watch the sunset. Dining here is outside.

3. Sunsetters Restaurant at Orchid Bay Marina

Orchid Bay Marina is the first marina to the right as you enter the harbour of Guana Cay by ferry or your own boat. This is the most elegant restaurant on the island.

The Sunsetters Restaurant at Orchid Bay Marina is nice and airconditioned, has a swimming pool and a large sun deck.

Orchid Bay Marina is a full service marina, which offers dockage for smaller and larger boats.

4. Mermaids on the Rocks (2 miles out from the settlement)

Island Flavour restaurant is located a couple miles from the settlement, to the North, towards Baker's Bay. They have a swimming pool, an outside bar and docks for visitors. To eat inside, in the fancy and upscale restaurant, you need proper shoes, not flip flops.

5. Kid's Cove - Bar

Located right in the harbour of Guana Cay, on the left hand side as you drive or walk toward Nipper's. Kid's Cove can also tempt you with some fresh seafood sometimes, when the owner Forrest is cooking.

All of these options are great. You'll find a nice selection of fresh seafood; Conch, Grouper, Mahi mahi, Crawfish, Shrimps and more. If you prefer meat, they have that as well.

Grabber's serves pizza too. Nipper's, Orchid Bay and Mermaids on the Rocks have in-door restaurants with air condition. You can still dine outside if you prefer.

Nipper's, Grabber's, Orchid Bay and Mermaids on the Rocks serve both lunch and dinner. Some of them (Orchid Bay and Mermaids on the Rocks) are closed some days of the week.

Beach Combing, Beach Walking

Beach walking in Guana - Where is Abaco?

You can walk the beautiful, pristine and white beaches for exercise, or to comb for shells, sea glass for jewelry, old glass balls or other treasures.

On some days you'll have the beach all to yourself, especially if you move away from the beach outside of Nipper's. You can walk both directions, and don't get discouraged when you meet rock. Just climb around, or over it and you'll find a new beach on the other side. Until you get to the end of the island, that is...

Kayaking

If you haven't tried paddleboarding or kayaking before, you have a fun exercise waiting for you. You can borrow both a paddle board and a kayak at Grabbers Bar, Bed & Grill, a resort only a few stepsto the left when you get off the ferry on the publich dock. Or you can rent a kayak, paddleboards, bikes, boats and golf carts at Dive Guana.

Bicycle rental in Guana Cay - Where is Abaco?

If you would like to tour the island on a bike, you can rent a bicycle from Dive Guana for $10 a day.

Island Hopping

You have several options to go island hopping to the nearest islands and Hope Town.

  1. 1. Rent a boat and explore on your own. Rent a boat from Dive Guana.

  2. 2. Jump on a combined island hopping and snorkeling tour with Dive Guana. If you want to go in a boat on other days, just call or email and ask Dive Guana if they will take you.

  3. 3. Go by your own, by taking the ferry to Marsh Harbour, then take a taxi ($6) or walk for 15 minutes to the ferry dock for Elbow Cay (where Hope Town is) and Man-O-War.
